Anyone using a Sunpod on a 12g nanocube? I am looking to get one and wonder what experiences others have had. Does it heat the water up more than the stock lighting did?? Are the fan(s) loud? Any pictures of your nano with the unit running is GREATLY appreciated. I have always used VHO or PC over my tanks and wanna switch. I dont have SPS, but have LPS and many zo's which i think will boost the colors.

Thanks in advance , Scott

good light choice, doubt you need 150w though. heat will be an issue. consider the small chiller that nanocustoms uses and installs.

Heat will be a huge issue. I am currently running a 150W over my 24gallon and I had to purchase a chiller to keep the temperature steady. Not only is the heat an issue but the size of the unit is about 20" long, it's 1" over on each side of my nanocube. Over a 12 gallon, the Sunpod would be too long. (Although the legs are adjustable). Overall, I am happy with the performance of the Sunpod.

On the other hand JBJ has that clip on MH fixture "THE VIPER" which might be the perfect look for the 12 gallon nanocube. BTW my warranty is voided out due to my modifications. I removed the back filter compartment and added a overflow box.

GOOD LUCK shopping.

Thanks apedroza, I will look at it. I am not sold on the sunpod if any of you have a good choice. I am just not a DIY'er so i am looking for a ready to "plug and play " light. Lower price is always good words for my wife too, lol
Thanks, Scott

I have been debating retrofitting a 70 watt in to the hood of my AP12 but i am still not sure if i want to go that route

After doing a little more investigating...the sunpod 70w MH fixture would work great in this application. Good Luck with your new light kit.
