This was sold to me as a Sunset Monti that lost a little color after being fragged and it "should color back up." The more and more I look at it the more it looks like a frag of an ORA supernatural capricornis. What do you think?
The picture is bad quality, but the color is actually pretty accurate to what it really looks like. He did show me what he said was the "mother colony." But I am really starting to doubt it was true. Especially since he initially pointed at this frag and another one and said they were both from his mother colony. I noticed that the polyps were different on both of the frags. He said oh yeah it is just this one (the one in the pic) that is from the mother colony.
Cant really tell from this pic but the sunset is in the middle, shamrock on the left, this is a pic with the flash when i first got them, the sunset is really bright now.
Would you call the LFS out on it or just let it be? I guess the price would also come into consideration on that answer. I got that "sunset monti" and green slimer 1.5" and a chips ora 1.5" for $65
Now I have seen some pieces like this one go from orange to a near brown from shipping stress, so that hue of orange/brown is possible. You can see where mine is brown where the polyps shade.
However, the tell is the polyps. Here is a picture of mine, you can see even the blown in, partially out, and fully extended polyps are not even a close match to what you show. In fact, those green polyps will cover the orange completly most of the time.
Had you done any research prior to buying the piece? I would suggest that prior to ANY purchase of a LE/Named/Collectible Coral.
