ok dont tell chris that i asked about this i want a frag of the sunset montipora but i cant find it anywhere. i tried ebay and all that but some dumb man outbid me $115 for a small frag.... well let me know if you have one or if you know where i can get some! i will love you for life if you can help me out! I have been chasing this thing for a month or so. Standard retail is 100.00 per half inch. Insane, I know. Still, we have to put up, or shut up.

I have Frank working on a nice 1 inch piece for me at a reasonable price. It may take him a bit, but he always comes through.

I thought ATR had it? I have it, but don't really want to frag it at the moment. I actually lost one but got a replacement in a trade a couple months back. Its a very nice coral, takes a while to take off but once it does it can grow well. The one that ATR was definitely the real deal.

I have it too. But I need to save the first frag for someone. It would be a few months before I could try two. It's starting to take off so maybe sooner but you can never know.

I think it's great you are trying to get him a frag. It's a real stunner. One of my 3 favs.

Here is mine, its encrusted over the plug now but I gotta get it mounted onto a rock asap. Super cool coral, more bright yellow/orange in real life. Check frags.org - often you can find deals there. Always very expensive but sellers there frequently have stock.

i went to ATR and they had some kind of a crash in there frag tank so they lost alot of the nice frags they had.so i will keep looking it just might not be as soon as i had hoped!

Pets inc had some the other day when I was there. They were very reasonably priced too, I almost bought one. I think they were around $60.

The ones I saw were Rainbows. They also have some monster Supermans which aren't currently for sale.

If they were true Sunsets at 60.00 ea, they are long gone.

I don't believe that Pet's inc. would have the true Sunset Coral, they didn't get it from me or Tyree and if they didn't get it from a local person with the real thing it's probably not. Still limited distribution from the original colony piece that Tyree, Hugo and I split.

Yeah they have a nice wild SM and wild rainbow. The rainbow is fragged and they said they'd frag the SM (talked to Holly).

Here is an updated pic, looks like SM is keeping the Sunset from spreading to that side. Bad Superman!! Sorry for the bad pic.

Oh & I talked to a guy at ATR, bummer they lost it. I was hoping it would get to a few reefers locally.

Frick'n Frags Sunset monti is still there though it is in sad shape, really only a chip left right now though I am optimistic about a comeback. A second piece of the Sunset is in the care of a local reefer and doing well the last time I checked.

For some reason the Sunset failed to thrive longterm in the propagation systems and was not affected by the system crash as it had been moved into other systems by that time.

well i got on the list for the superman and the sunset @ ATR! they said they needed to call you skip to find out the cost so im just waiting to find out.!
