Saved my pennies and went my first big annual frag swap. Bought a number of cool frags. Stopped at LFS on way home and grabbed a one shot of CoralRX. Mixed as instructed except I believe I may have mistakenly used RO/DI water instead of seawater. Embarrassed but wicked bummed. They went bleach white in minutes after rinsed and placed in DT. Some not tip today...ANY hope they survive or did I just pay a $250 stupid tax??

Thx

How long was the bath? RO in a quick dip may not be the best, but corals can survive that in many cases. If you gave them an extended bath and then plunged them into water with a much higher density and high alkalinity, well they're probably toast. I don't think they would survive the osmotic shock.

LLemmeguess all sps. Anyhow freshwater dips wont kill zoas mushrooms and some other softies. Some lps are ok others may survive and wells your sps are toast unless you in and out dipped them.

Sorry to hear, next time you dip just use the water that your frags came home in after you float the bag to acclimate to your tank temp.

I once went to my LFS and pickup a bag of feeders for my pond and some dendro for my tank.
I fed the Koi the same way cut bag open over the pond. Guess what I open when I got back inside???
Hope you feel better
