Super confused about quarantine tank

I just set up my first QT. Ten gallon, heater, ammonia monitor, and powerhead. I filled it with tap water, dechlorinated with prime, and added salt.

When I put the fish in how often do I add prime to keep ammonia down since it is not a cycled tank?

I add it every 24-48 hours and change water 1-2 a week for an uncycled tank

So are QT suppose to be cycled?

I cycle mine, but there is a thread towards the bottom of the following link about uncycled QTs.
