ok, well...here's my review. I fell asleep. I had awesome seats, great company...was completely thrilled with the set...and then. SNORE. And honestly...I don't really know if the intention was to generate sympathy for Salieri, because I seriously felt little connection with ANY of the characters. Mozart, sometimes...and the scenes with him in it sorta brought me outta my boredom induced coma. Now, granted, the actor playing Salieri was phenomenal. Truly an incredible actor...but it seems to me that almost 4 hours for a straight stage play is WAY WAY too long.
In the car ride home, i tried to be polite and thank my friend for the ticket, but i couldn't help myself...i blurted out, that really sucked, did you think it sucked too? Which prompted a drink and discussion. And he didn't like it either.
So, given a choice between the movie version and the stage version? :idea: I'll take a good beer and a game of pool. :twitch:
