Supplemental Feeding of Lawnmower.

What do people feed their lawnmower blennies as a supplement to their algae. Mine has currently eaten all of the algae in the tank, and is picking at nothing. I have tried Emerald Entree, and it breaks up so fine, that it just clouds the water. Is the type of lettuce that I can use Iceberg? I remember reading somewhere about being able to supplement with a type of lettuce. Also, will they eat the dried algae sheets? I want something that is not going to foul the entire tank. BTW it is a Oceanic 29 BC.

Thanks.

Get the dried sea weed sheets used to wrap sushi in. Look in the Oriental food section of a grocery store. Cut a small strip and put it in a vegi clip.

Mine love Julian Sprungs Sea Veggies. It has a great texture and comes apart when it's been in the clip awhile...all the fish love it. Don't get the red..the purple seems to be the favorite followed by the green.

If you go with the dried sea weed from the Asian stores make sure it is the sun dried version. It is mega cheap too....

Thanks for all of the feedback. Unfortunately, I don't have an Asian store anywhere near my house, but I will look for it in the Asian food section. Where can I buy Julian Sprung Sea Veggies?

You can buy the Julian Sprung Sea Veggies at Petsmart or Petco.
My Lawnmower (aka Pedro) loves it. He likes the green best. He hops on top and rides it like a carpet while he chomps away. :D

Mine will eat almost anything and seems to prefer the meatier foods like mysis. These guys are actully omnivores so if yours wont take any veggies try some meat too.

I typically feed my tank mysis, brine shrimp, and cyclops. Every time I put some in, he is picking away at the rock, but it does not look like he is eating any of the meaty food. How do you get yours to take interest/notice of the seaweed on a clip?

Chemistmike, I would like to know also. My tangs and foxface won't let anything else get close to the clip. I place nori in it and they go wild until it is gone. No one else gets a chance! What now??
