i,m changing back to a 10k for the first time on my new tank-and would like to supplement with something i already have stashed in the attic from my old tank.my lighting stash consists of 96w uri actinics and 20k 175w halide. my concern is will the weak 96 uri be drowned out by my 250's (i only have room in canopy for one),or should i just stick the 20k halide in the middle and work my undersized chiller even harder than it's already working.

Even though it looks white like most 10k's, the reeflux puts out a lot of "blue" light like a 20k. According to Tyree you would be better off with vho actinic to give the corals some violet light.

u might want to check out t5's. URI (changed name to UV) is coming out with t5 actinics soon
