Support is changing

Important Notice -

Just over a year ago there were a number of comments not happy with the support forum in Germany and also others not happy with support offered on Reef Central as it could not be indexed which led to multiple repeat threads.

So in an effort to streamline this we set up www.profiluxsupport.com however we then started getting some negativity about this also.

As we have noticed most people now use the German forum at www.aquariumcomputer.com we have decided to make an important change.

www.profiluxsupport.com domain will be pointed to the German support forum that is now widely used, the NA support forum will go offline. This will then provide one streamlined approach to support and also give users a wider database of answers to questions.

At this time we are no longer accepting new members at www.profiluxsupport.com and ask everyone who is a member and has not already done so to set up an account at

http://forum.aquariumcomputer.com/forum.php

www.ghlna.com remains online and an important online product catalogue to the brand.

Had an amusing time signing up. I know German, so the language didn't throw me, but there was a validation question: "Nachts sind alle Katze...".

Huh? That must be some cultural aphorism I don't know since I'm not, in fact, German. I first thought to reply "am Schlafen", but then thought, cats aren't known for sleeping at night, so I went with "auf dem Jagd" instead. I guessed wrong. :twitch:

Fortunately the next query was "Wie viele "l" sind im Wort "Parallel"..." And while I apparently don't know what cats do at night, I can count. :D So now I'm just waiting for admin approval. Carry on, mates.

Nachts sind alle Katzen grau.
A German saying ....
Lucky you ..same writing ... parallel, different pronunciation though ...

You know the reason people complained, from what I understand / understood was the lack of quality support. No matter what site you go to the support is not where some customers like it to be. Here are some key points I find frustrating when looking for support.

1. The software has changed, tutorials have not.
2. When working with programmable logic it is assumed the user knows what they are doing.
3. Sometimes posts go unanswered and you end up sending an email anyways.

I love the ProFiLux and while I am trying to learn everything I can I have to go slow and figure it out when I have extra time. So if we could update some of the tutorials and lower the support level to a end user it would be a great help and most grateful.

Thanks for listening

Many thanks for your feedback, it is always welcome

The software has changed slightly I like to assume it does not take much to figure out the differences, the product is not plug and play (neither is any controller) and does assume you are happy to play with your devices and enjoy learning from it. If not I am an email away ;)

As I personally do all the tutorials maybe look at helping out and doing some that will assist other users. We have a great community lets use it, thats how other controller companies work so why should be not use the same method.

Community spirit drives the product forward.
