sure flow maxijet mods, good or bad?

Im wondering how the sure flow mods are on the maxijets. Are they nice, equal to say a koralia or do they have their quirks and problems? I remember reading they changed something on them to fix a problem with the original.

dan223, doesn't seem to work. Go to youtube, water change aquarium and look at LimpetsReef stuff. You'll find it all there.

For less money than a Maxi jet 1200 + mod you can get a K4. So I would just get the K4. It may clatter a little on restarts but won't spin backwards. Plus it comes with the magnet holder. So IMO a Koralia is the way to go.

I like my mods...no issues...the smaller prop works better than the larger. Have had mine for 2 years.

I am using them and I am happy with it. I originally thought 2 non-modified 1200's was enough but I was wrong. So just short of buying 2 new power heads I gave the Sure-Flo mods a try. Once I put them on I will admit there was a disturbing vibration and humming sound coming from them. I was concerned about all the noise coming from them. But after a weeks time they settled down and you can bearly hear them run now. I would try using the Sure Flo mod on one of your maxi's and see how you like it and then go from there.
