surface film is ugly

I was just wondering the best way to get rid of surface film. I have an aquapod 12 with a hydro flo. the flo seems to disturb the surface enough. any suggestions. should I get rid of the hydro and put the dual outlet back on and point to the surface. thanks for comments.

It's tough without an overflow; I usually just skim the surface with a pitcher during my weekly water changes to remove the build up.

More flow will definitely help break up the film.

Pointing the output towards the surface or adding another powerhead for surface agitation will work.

I have the same issue, surface film. I run topless with no canopy. I've added another PH just for surface agitation, which helps, but I still get dust on the surface. Really cant do much except skim it manually with a pitcher or paper towel. I would add a surface skimmer box to my skimmer but no room in the 20g.
