surface skimmer for nano???

i recently downsized to a 30 oceanic and am getting a surface film on it. I do not want to add a powerhead pointed at the surface. My protein skimmer doesnt have a surface skimmer attatchment so that option is out also.

I was thinking about using the tunze nano filter for this purpose.

Anyone use this or have another suggestion?

does water after being skimmed go out to a sump?

I am sumpless but could possiblly use something similiar on my closed loop. Just not sure if i could make one large enough to handle the flow on it (600gph) while not sticking out like a soar thumb.

Opinions?

i think that the best thing to do is get yourself a sump and get some kind of over flow. thats what i did for my tank....but i also have a skimmer box for my remora... ill try to find some pic's for you

these are pictures of my overflow on my old 10gal but i hand it 2 boxes instead on one on my new tank...and the glass i got cuz at Lows for like 10 bucks or something... just an idea

thanks for the pics nanowiz. I would love to have a sump but I just do not have the room. The oceanic stand is tiny and right now i can BARELY fit my nilson reactor and topoff container.

Seanpercy: Do you have a picture of the nano filter on your tank? I would like to see how much it stands out.

Thanks for all the comments! Keep em coming.

The Tunze nanofilter looks pretty cool but pricey.

I did something similar. Mine is permanently mounted in the tank though.

thats pretty neat Agu. I am not much for DIY though. I went on ahead and ordered the nano filter today.

Thanks everyone for the comments!
