-Tiny Acrylic Sphere
-Mirror in background at 45 degrees pointed out side of tank at LED sun.
-This shot took forever to setup because the sphere kept falling off and getting the "sun" in the right spot was touchy.
Nice! Interesting combination of the natural and the less so. The use of the mirror and led sun is a neat idea and I like the "sunset" over the Monti thing. Nice backlighting on the Monti polyps. Good perch for the sphere. I also like the wide aspect ratio and the parallel round shapes of the sphere and "sun".
Now map some cool image onto the sphere as a reflection.
I find the micro bubble on the top left of the sphere a bit distracting.
For this shot I was actually trying to use the sphere as a lens and bring a branching digitata in the background into focus, making a nice composition of the two. However, this proved incredibly difficult and I could never figure out where the digi needed to go to be in focus.
I had tried to photoshop out the bubble, but each edit didn't look right. Here's
an edit I did this morning that turned out ok:
I'm redoing my sun to not be a direct LED - you can see the geometry of my aperture rings in the sun shape if I make it a point of light (ie. the sun looks like a pentagon).
