Survey--what kind of water do you use?

Tap water in my area of west Nashville tests neg for phosphates. I am going to try it. (I have been buying water at the Critter for years, but that's getting old.)

RO/DI here also, but used tap/prime for years on a FOWLR and a reef tank.

Pickupman66 sounds like hes having the same issues I had. I did tap/prime for years and switched over to 0TDS a couple years or so ago. Ill never go back. I had rock that was in a tap system for a long time that was still giving me algae issues after 7 months of "cooking" and 4 months of being in the cleanest tank Ive had yet. Ill see after this additional 2 months of "cooking" (I was forced to do) if Im replacing them, but tap isnt worth it in a full blown reef IMO....not one Im trying to create anyway:D

RO/DI

boofer, Exactly. I test zero phosphates and nitrates, but still get the brown reddish cyano bloom. It had gone away, but a skimmer change and not replacing the Phosban has brought it back. I ahve also had a bubble algae spike as it was introduced on a frag, and a soft fuzzy green coating. since replacing the phosban, the coating has seriously changed and is receding. I wish I had gone ro/di years back...

Aquatic Critter water...is that RO/DI?

It's just RO I believe....I could be wrong.
