Survival rates with cut (fragged) bta specimens?

Has anyone performed enough of these "surgeries" to have an idea of mortality rates? I saw a thread in which two reefers cut a bta in half using what looked like a box cutter. Has anyone tried using aseptic techniques (or at least sterile instruments)? If I recall correctly someone on that thread discussed that the cuts on the clones were ragged. Does a clean or shear cut help in healing? Any other specifics on this technique (recovery tips, etc) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

the cut I did in my other thread, half lived

one problem was probbably the foot, will do it without water next time and see if it helps

vthondaboi,
Did one clone get more of the foot than the other? You had mentioned that the cut was jagged, did this prevent either clone from pinching the cut area together? Sorry to ask so many questions but you seem to be the only one viewing this thread with any experience. Thanks.
