Swamp Bottom is Moving...

Ocean Motions ;)

Either way it will be the same drive. Instead of taking RT. 43 all the way out it and a left on Rt.22. Will now be Rt. 20 or take the Thruway and get off exit B3 and travel north.

Crazy thing is...... I read about it in the Upstate forum long before it was posted here. Huh imagine that. I juss took as Ummmm as if they really kno what they are talking about. lol I was going to follow it up and call Tony but never did.

I like Berkshire Aquatics or Berkshire Aquaria best so far. I'm sure a lot of his customers come from that direction and it kind of cements the relationship.

No way he should keep Swampbottom, IMO.

How about "Neptune's Realm"

Like this 1 also. But personally I call it "My Empty Wallet"

All good suggestions aside, I definitely think he should keep the name Swamp Bottom. It's all about name recognition and he already has that.

Eddie's already has the best name recognition in the area, and given that most people just call it "Eddie's", that doesn't describe anything.

What's the time frame?

Next two weeks.

I like Berkshire Aquatics too, swampbottom may have made him but his customers will follow for sure.

IMO swampbottom is the complete opposite of what he is.....
swamp = fresh water, green and nasty
reefs= prestine saltwater, beautiful and in most cases don't smell bad :)

LOL I've seen some fairly Nasty reefs also in my past and present experiences Jallard.... not all reefs are "splendid pristine displays".... in the wild OR in our houses ;)

We will just have to call up Tony and have him say a few names to us on the phone, and see how they roll off his tongue in that gruf - "scruffy the tugboat" sweet kinda voice he has :D

I'm just curious if the live strip steaks are going to move also, or if they are going to be staying in the pasture where they are..... I think they add character to SB

The reason I think Tony should stay away from names such as Berkshire Aquatics is because, living in Albany, it would never occur to me to visit a place in the Berkshires. Plus, we have to remember that CDMAS members are not his only target audience. The name has to appeal to the general population.

How would swampbottom appeal to people who don't kmow what he has? If anything it would suggest to first time visitors that he has fresh water stuff, not reef.

Just my opinion.

I got to say driving down into the trailer park and then seeing cows crossing in front of me almost made me go home without walking in the door But sure glad I did. I hope his new shop is even better....

is the new shop going to be closer?

Hello Everyone! I just wanted to say thanks for all the great ideas on a new name. We've decided not to change the name of the store but just the name we will put on the road sign. So with all the great suggestions, I am sure we will be able to come up with something great! Also, thanks for all the offers of your help to move the store. We are going slow and steady but it has proved to be successful and so far no losses. Oops, except for one 65 gal. tank. Should not have stopped for that red light!! HAHA. We will be open for business on Tuesday, October 10th at the Mid Town Mall, Rt 20 New Lebanon New York. Once again, thanks to everyone, see you there!
Tony
