Swc 250s skimmer break in

I'm wondering what the break in procedure is for the swc 250s as I have to empty it daily and it's not all that dirty but I've been running it for about 4 Months now on my 200g bowfront with 70g refugium, bunch of crabs, snails a few corals yellow tail damsels, 1 yellow belly damsel, 2 clowns, green chromis, yellow tang, blue hippo tang, orange spot goby

4 months? I would think it would be pretty broken in by now.

Forgive me, I may just be reading this wrong... if you're concerned about rate of accumulation of wet and light colored skimmate, its most likely just a matter of lowering the water height in the skimmer.

It's long been broken in. You are over skimming. Also known as wet skimming. Your problem is an adjustment issue. Either the skimmer needs to be raised out of the water more, or you need to open the valve that allows the water to exit the skimmer. Try adjusting the water level inside of the skimmer, so it is at the base of the neck. Then walk away for a few days. The foam will eventually build up and overflow into the collection cup. You will get a more concentrated, smelly, thick, skimate.

I run mine in 7 inches of water with the air all the way open. It's been a great skimmer for me.

Mine is in about 7 1/2" of water I'll adjust the flow and see if I get drier foam thanks
