SWC Cone help

I've got an SWC Xtreme 160 cone, got a few Q's about it.

Brand new impeller, when I turn the air up to max it sounds like the impeller is rattling.

Flow control, I have to have it turned almost all the way closed to get the level to rise to get a good skim, skimmer is in about 9" of water.

I have the same skimmer and leave my air flow completely open and adjust it with the water flow only. Mine is in about 8 inches of water and I have to have the flow almost completely closed for it to be tuned in.

My impellar will rattle a little with the air all the way open. I slowly close the air valve to silence it. This usually only happens after I disassemble and clean it,and goes away after a little run time,then I fully open the air.

Exactly what I've been doing. Been in and running almost a month now tho.
