Sweet Anemone Shrimp Spotted while Diving! Lets go collecting!

OK this is the second thread about this so I have to send my gear in to be recert and reworked. If this takes a couple weeks to get togather I am in. I have had several boats and am in on gas plus clean up. I dont think people that have not done this know what a pain cleaning is. Your hot tired from being out all day and all your buddys that went with scatter like flys.

Glad to see there is a good amount of interest in the trip. Unfortunately, the boat is full on Saturday as I'll be heading out 50-75 miles looking for Reef Donkeys (Amberjacks) since the season opens today. Other than that, most weekends in August are pretty open. I live on the water in St Pete, we could all meet up at my place and head out from there. It takes about 25-30 minutes to get to the skyway/gulf. Then its just how far we decide to go. A combination of spearfishing, collecting, and fishing would be a really fun day.

fyi clownfish will eat pedersons cleaners. they aren't found in the same ocean so clowns aren't used to them in nature. I used to collect them in s. fl. when I was in college and learned that my clarks clown thought they were glorified ghost shrimp!

50-75 miles for some donkeys! Your crazy. Must be huge that far out! But you H&L so not too crazy!
I have had luck in 50-75ft not miles but that when the water cools a bit. about 30-40lb on public wrecks.

Nothing like getting your A$$ whooped spearing an AJ especially freediving! AJ and Cobia are so intense to spear fishing. Both have little fear of divers and frequently swim right up to you! Close quarters combat fish wrestling!

You hit the nail on the head:hammer:
My earlier post were not meant to sound like an jerk but like you said people who havent gone on a private boat do not know. Beer help the cleaning process with out a doubt. On top of cleaning the boat and trailer, you have gear, fish, cooler, etc. A lot of work but totally worth it!

15 miles in what direction? West? 15 miles is pretty far for 10ft of water. Then again I'm used to my neck of the water. 15 miles west here is 65

Yup West- West North West. North of Pasco is shallow for a very long time. I got the coordinate and sidescan outputs. Nice longtime on a tank, and when it is out you just freedive . Reefs in turtle grass. More good sized grouper and hogfish then I have seen anywhere this side of Cayman.

I'm still in to take a group diving/fishing. The boat is in the shop for a bit getting a new GPS unit as mine went out on the last trip. Made it quite difficult to find your spots without a GPS. I will be shipping it back to Garmin this week and hope to be back up and running shortly.
