swim bladder issues

Hello all my first post here at RC ....to bad its about my sick solar wrasse i have had her for a month now and watching her at the LFS for two weeks before she was in great shape till yesterday she started swimming kinda weird and this morn she was all over the place :sad2:....so I QT her and treated the water with melafix ....is there any thing else i can do for her maybe a fresh water dip she will still eat but is out of control trying to catch it

Sorry to here that. Next start off by putting your fish in a QT first. I would have not used the MELAFIX, to much shock for a new fish. A clean QT is the best thing to start with, then obsever the fish from there.

Swim bladder??? How was the fish when you bought it? Did a rock fall over in hit it or crush it?

I had a Koran get himself stuck behind some live rock and the time I found him, he was still a live but he could not right himself. With in a few hours he was gone. I had him for 4 years!!!

Might have been the same thing.

Not to sure on that as all my rock are zip tied or epoxy together ...not saying it couldnt have happened but it would have been more of a rubble sized rock....
she was fine till last night .started swimming a little funny and then my hippo started picking on her till she went and hid

Fish was fine when i watched her in lfs for two weeks ate like a pig brought her home and she was fine in my tank maybe a little shy ate lots had her just over a month then last night ...so maybe my hippo was helping make things worse

Sounds like something happened in your tank. Could be a rock....Could be anything.
