Switched to led lights

Took out twin compact t5s yesterday and replaced with tmc aquabar t series leds. Reef white and fiji purple twin set. The difference in colour is quite startling. Have started the leds on a 9 hour setting but at 70% output you try and acclimatise the soft corals. Going to have a 3 hour moonlight period too. Does this sound reasonable to everyone or should I reduce power further for a duration?

I would start even lower but there are so many variables: Depth of tank, height of light fixture from water, the light fixture itself, corals, etc. I have LED's and I only have it at 65% power for blues and 45% whites every day. I have them ramp up to that peak throughout the day then slide back down. When I put new corals in I set the blues at 40% and whites/green/red at 25%. You should be able to judge by how your corals are reacting though. If they are looking good then I wouldn't change anything. I tend to take a more cautionary approach though.

I agree with lg2725 until your corals acclimate to the new more intense light start low and increase it a little every week

Your tank looks nice and clean today.
Looks really good post chemiclean. No sign of any more red slime coming back. Looks a lot nicer under the led lights too in my opinion.
Thank you for saying so though, it's good to see effort rewarded.
