Switching gears, lots of stuff FS

All,

I'm going to take another direction with my system. As such I'm going to sell most of the livestock, rock, and some of the equipment. I'd like to sell corals first, then get people interested in fish and live rock lined up, hopefully, to all come over on the same day (netting fish in a tank this big is 100% impossible without taking it down so I'd like to do all the fish on the same day) so I can just take the system down and net the fish partially drained with no rock to get in the way.

I have a bunch of small, random, not particularly valuable frags. Zoanthids, Xenia, GSP, photosynthetic gorgs, orange monti cap, stuff like that. These will all be freebies if you buy something else or $10 a pop otherwise.

See photos below for reference to the numbers listed here. Many of the frags and some of the other livestock you can see do not belong to me, so ask if you see something unlabeled before assuming it's for sale.

To save me from typing it each time, all gorgs are photosynthetic.

1) Branching hammer, the common green/purple coloration. Probably about a foot across. It was ~20 heads when I bought it last year, not sure now - probably between 30 and 40. It's so well extended that I can't count. $75

2) Spiny orange sea rod gorg $20

3) Green sinularia, probably 4" tall $15

4) Knobby Sea Rod, probably 6" tall $10

5) Black Sea Rod, giant colony, one of my favorite gorgs. Very fast grower, pale silvery polyps $30

6) Yellow Sea Feather gorg, fairly large colony $15

7) Green polyp toadstool, small colony $10

8) Large colony of unknown hard coral, probably blue coral (Heliopora). Growing in a massive form and throwing up lobes. Grows fairly quick but definitely not invasive. Gets really cool silvery polyps. $25

9) The largest chunk of GSP you've ever seen. Pieces will be freebies with other purchases if you want some or we can work it out if that's all you want.

10) This is a cool rock. Has big green palys on it (I think they're a named variety but I don't really follow fad names), a blue/orange ricordea, and a giant colony of "Gary's Gorg." Also it's got some really cool yellow sponge and other hitchhikers on it. This came out of a live rock vat with these corals all on it and it's the only piece of "real" live rock in my system. $25

11) Big rose BTA. $50 alone, or paired with clowns (see below)

12) Medium green BTA. $25 alone, or paired with clowns (see below)

13) Large colony of purple plume gorg. Another of my favorite gorgs. Gets covered with really cool polyps but also goes dormant pretty regularly. $20

14) Purple sea feather gorg, fairly large colony. $15

15) Purple sea rod gorg colony. $15

X) Somehow not visible in any of the pictures, a ~5 head colony of common frogspawn. $20

X) Visible here and there, I have LOTS of Gary Gorg. Big pieces, small pieces, medium pieces, all kinds. Priced by size (say, $5 - $25) or smaller ones are free if you buy something else.

As mentioned above I have a pair of clowns, they are Fiji Barberi clowns (A. barberi). These are a species that was described a few years ago in the tomato complex and are supposedly like a tomato but not quite as aggressive. They've never really picked on other fish except for a poor blue throat trigger that kept trying to hide in "their" cave. I've had them for a few years, from being wild caught juvies. They spawn regularly. They host in the rose and green BTAs mentioned above. I'd like $60 for the pair, but would strongly prefer someone take them with one or both anemones and will give a discount to support that.

If people coming for corals are also interested in rock I can pull some out and price per piece. The rock is all MMLR that's been in-system for ~2 years. Mostly very big pieces, fairly porous, most either branch or plate structures. Probably around $1 per pound

That's it for now. Prefer payment via paypal or cash. First paid, first served, I prefer not to hold livestock on a promise. I live in the boonies to the southeast of Syracuse, about a half an hour from the city.

Sorry for the terrible cell pictures. The colors are pretty bad.

(Frag at the bottom of that picture not for sale. Sorry but she's not mine.) :D

Rest of the photos coming as soon as I finish numbering them

Also - I am generally available after 6 PM evenings, or on weekends. Exceptions are other commitments I have tomorrow night (Tuesday), Friday night, Saturday evening, and all day Sunday.

Think I am caught up on PMs.

Gone/pending:
-Misc rock #10 (with the gorg, palys, and ric)
-Green toadstool (both of them #7 in the photos)
-hammer #1
-frogspawn not in photos
-Green BTA #12
-some of the gsp, Xenia, zoanthids, rock

The frogspawn and torches in the photos are not for sale, the piece that was available somehow managed to escape the camera.

Also, many of the fish in the photos are not for sale. Once it's getting closer to d-day I'll list the fish that are in fact available.

Wow, what a shame (for me) that you are too damn far away - I would take all of the gorgs and the anemone/ clown combo...

...sigh... :(

...anyways, good luck with everything!

I've had a person from Buffalo and a person from Rochester PM me about coming out already. Maybe you could hitch hike with one of them or get them to bring stuff back? I haven't sold any of the gorgs yet, if you seriously wanted them all I'd cut you a discount.

I've had a few offers on "every X type of livestock that remains" so I'm going to work through those and consider fish, rock, and corals sold for now. Once the system is down (probably a few weeks at the earliest) I'll sell equipment. If people want to start queuing up for that, this is what is available:

1) Reeflo Dart, with the older motor style. Not a looker (paint flaking off motor and some surface rust) but it keeps on trucking. This thing has a history of being on large tanks, I bought it used off Kent's 1000g plywood system. Seals replaced about 2 years ago. $100. Free true union ball valves with purchase of pump if you want them (and assuming I can find them).

2) VFD-controlled closed loop pump. This consists of a few components and is not typical so I'll explain it here. First is the Reeflo wet end (housing, seal, impeller) - pretty much the same wet end they sell on the Barracuda/Hammerhead, but from their commercial products line. They sell this with everywhere from 1/4 to 2.5 hp motors on it. Second, a baldor TEFC 3-phase 3/4hp 56j frame motor, model JM3463. Finally, the VFD (variable frequency drive) is a Teco FM50-101C. The VFD lets you control the speed of the pump digitally, so basically it turns the closed loop into something as flexible as a vortech or Tunze powerhead. This is "bring your own controller" as I'm keeping mine. :D If you are DIY saavy you can rig your own (arduino!), or it's likely that most reef controllers with a 10v analog signal output could be wired to the VFD to control it. The motor is a 3600 rpm motor but only rated for 3/4hp, and this wet end takes more than that to spin all the way up, so I keep it under 60% load. According to reeflo's performance curves, it's probably pushing 7000-8000 gph at that point. Warning: it's not the quietest thing on the planet.

I realize that the market for this as a package is probably pitifully narrow so I'm putting a big discount if you buy all three parts. Retail prices to buy the three components off the shelf are about $700. I'll sell the package for $300 obo. The motor weighs about eleventybillion pounds so I'd really like to sell this locally (shipping it here when I bought it was like $60 and it came in a cute little wooden crate. That's when you know your pumps are getting serious!)

Also going to sell the RO/DI system. It is the BRS 5 stage system. Membrane and both carbon blocks were replaced about a month ago so they are practically new. DOWN filmtec 75gpd membrane and the standard carbon blocks it comes with from BRS. The DI is pretty much spent but I think have an unopened refill. Sediment filter is also about due, but I have spares. $125.

And I have a water mix/change station if anyone's interested. Two 30g Brutes with bulkheads in the bottom, on a 2x lumber stand with a Little Giant pump (one of their industrial/chemical pumps, not one marketed towards the aquarium hobby)
mounted beneath them. Pump is valved and plumbed so it can be used to mix water in one of the brutes, transfer water from one to the other, or pump water from the brutes to the display tank or other location. There's a mechanical float valve in one of the brutes to let you fill it from an RO/DI system. Let's call it $75 for the whole lot.

If there is interest I will sell the sump. It is plywood, like the tank itself. It's the dimensions of a standard 75g, 4' x 18" x 18". There's a standard triple baffle about a foot from a 2" bulkhead in one end to act as a return compartment. $75 obo.

Also I may be selling some of the RB LEDs I have but there's already some interest. If anyone else is interested let me know. They are D316 XP-E RBs mounted 6 per heatsink (heatsinks are maybe 18" long) with 40 degree optics. Let's call it $20 per stick of 6.

Also some of the miscellaneous trappings of a marine system. Ca and Alk test kits, half a box of salt, refractometer, jugs of carbon, a small jug of GFO, stuff like that. PM me and we'll work it out, or we can bargain if you come for other things, there's too much to list. Things I'm keeping: heaters, controllers, nets, powerheads...
