switching over

Hello all. I am thinking about geting out of reefing an making the switch to FOWLR, and I have a few questions. What dose everyone use for lighting? What about sandbeds, Dose anyone use DSBs? BBs , or shallow beds? Is the sand in an FOWLR functional as filtration or is it just for asthetics? What else besides skimmers are people using for filtration? Cannister filters, refugiums, sand filters etc. Thanks in advance, Chuck.

I use a Bermuda Protein Skimmer, I got it for 300 dollars. WORKS AMAZINGLY WELL. I have a refugium, full of macro algae. Umm, My tank is 180 gallons, my refugium is 75 gallons. I use my old light bar (forty-eight inches), and it has t-5's and moon lights. :rollface:
