Switching Salt Brands

Dave now I know why your fish and corals are so happy, they are all on massive amounts of Lithium...lol.

No salt in this study is an accurate simulation of natural sea water. All salts had at least one toxic heavy metal that was far in excess of NSW levels. When all factors are considered, Tropic Marin, Instant Ocean, and Kent Marine score the best, but such a score can not be arrived at without some amount of subjective judgment in evaluating the pertinent factors.

That article by Dr Ron is what got everybody to switch and nuke their tanks. ChrisRD destroyed his entire sps collection with just a small water change with the new salt. It was most likely not the fault of the salt, but something about the change.

The whole "heavy metal" issue has pretty much laid to rest as they are chelated in the system and rendered harmless.

yeah actualy that is not the same articles, there are 2 different studies. Dr Ron I think was in referance to a different post.

Yeah the stuff Dr. Ron raved about I knew was no good, and I stated such a few times, but "SOMEONE" kept deleting my post in the forum thread when contrary to such............

VINDICATION ..... it's a ***** :P

I'm not saying BIOSEA is the be all end all salt , but just that my personal 12+ years experience, Tropic Marin and BIOSEA have been the 2 salts I came to rely upon with consistency that is unmatched IME.

Foster and smith doesn't charge extra weight for shipping anymore on salt. Not sure if they are cheaper than local with the website like TA mentioned. They have always honored it for me, but sometimes they just a out of salt!!!
