Switching tanks... how much water should i move?

I am in my 4th week of cycling and heavy into my brown algae bloom. The tank i have been using is a 40gal critter tank. I know this is bad, so i am buying a plexiglass tank today (also 40gal).

My question is, how much old water should i save and bring into the new tank? I have cleaners showing up on tuesday and i dont want my water perams to be too wacky for them. I would like as smooth of a transition as possible, to not slow down my cycling. I figured i would just treat it like a 50% water change and bring half the old water over to preserve the biodynamic of my water.

Please i could use some advice as i am very new to salt water.

i would use as much as possible, and if it is water change day then do it as you move it. make sure to have extra water on hand in case of a spike from the transfer.

It looks like your cycle is almost done, I think you could go ahead and do that 50% water change if you want, without causing yourself a problem.
