Swivel arm and 6100s

Roger,

Just in case you are looking for more constructive feedback :D Tunze should include the M8x8 mm (0.31 in) screw with pumps in addition to the 6200. Thus far the screw is only available with the 6200 and is used to stabilize the pump with the swivel arm so the pump doesn't rotate after being set to a particular angle. See page 12 and 13 of the 6100 manual. The screw is labeled (8).

I'm finding that a 6100 will move from the place I set it on the swivel arm within a matter of minutes. I tried using some of the screws supplied with the pump but the heads are not wide enough to stop the pump from swiveling.

Let me know if you have a creative way of fixing a 6100 in place on the swivel arm.

TIA

Scott

I have never seen this happen provided the teeth on the two parts are firmly meshed, they have very fine serrations to prevent movement and they have always worked in my experience. The threading on all pieces is done by hand and to thread this would slow production even further, it just isn't a realistic option. It is done on the 6200 because this pump has a low demand and it needs it because of the added torque. Let me know if their is a problem but the serrations really do work if meshed firmly together, if they don't work you might have a bad piece.

I'll play around with different plastic screws and nuts and see what I can figure out. Not a big deal, but the serrations don't stop the pump from moving.

Wow, orchids, aquaria and beer. All at the same time?...nice!

Thanks again for the quick response...

You could thread the piece or I could I have a complete metric tap set. It really should work though.

I am an avid gardener, I don't have many orchids really, a few outdoor terrestrial types and a few Cymbidiums and Dendrobiums. I start all my own seeds and have a pretty extensive garden and that is most of what I do right now, I actually just finished for this season and won't have too mess with anything again until April when i will need to start my summer flowers since the winter/spring ones will be dying from the heat. I also haven't brewed beer in sometime, I just haven't had the time for it. I have a few aquariums, i keep my marine tanks at work since I am their most of the time but my real pride and joy is my 180 plant tank at home. I also like tinkering with stuff, cars, home repair.

Roger,

I have a metric tap set and some rainy day just might thread those pieces and give it a try. Thanks.

WRT seeds you just reminded me about some seeds I bought from Buchards Gardens in Victoria, BC on our last trip to there that I should prolly plant soon! Any pics of your garden and your planted tank? I used to keep a planted discus tank way back when that was alot of fun to garden.

I need to get some pics of my garden. The Camelia and Magnolia are done blooming but the snapdragons and violas as well as the Columbine are really getting going, I just got my vegetables in a few weeks ago, finally stopped freezing.

The tank pic is old, the val lost to the Potamogeton gayi which was barely visible in that photo. It looks like a dense jungle right now.
