T 12s Or MH

Can someone tell me which one is better
to grow coroline



6 T - 12s
or
2 * 150 white MH

There is alot more that goes into growing coralline then just the bulbs. IMO, cal, alk and mag are more important then the bulbs. I have grown coralline under T12 fluorescents, PCs, and MH.

If all other parameters are the same, I honestly don't think there will be much of a difference. You might get different shades of it, but think that the overall growth will be the same.

would there be any difference in colour
as the T12 are blue
and MH are white

I wouldn't run out and drop cash on lights to grow coraline algae.

As Todd stated long as your Cal, Alk & Mag parameters are stable it will come on it's own, and eventually become a pest.

Seriously coraline seems to grow better in the low light areas of my tank.

actually if the mh are too close it will stunt the growth of the coraline. the t12 will not bleach it out.
