t-5 Ballast question...

I have a piece oh crap T-5 ballast, 2x54 watt.

Can I use that ballast to run 4x24 watt bulbs?

Basically, can I use a ballast that was designed to run 2 4ft bulbs to run 4 2ft bulbs?

I am worried that it will not fire the bulbs up. once started I am sure it would run them, but can it start them?

It is an old oddasea ballast.

I would have to say no it won't work. I actually have two new 24watt by 2 lamp advanced ballast if your interested that I could get rid of. PM if your interested. I also have the 54w x 2 lamp

If they work anything like standard fluorescent ballasts, which I think they do, it'll fire them up fine, they just need to be wired correctly.


As to whether it'll run them to spec, I have no idea.
