I just got my new fixture, it's the 72" current usa Outer orbit. I'm putting in 3 250w phoenix 14k bulbs but it also has 8x39w t-5 actinics. It has the stock crappo bulbs and a few arent working so i need to get 8 t-5 bulbs for actinic's.

As you may know, the phoenix 14k's are already pretty blue so i dont want the actinics too blue. I have never had t-5's and know NOTHING about them or what bulbs to get.

What would you guys recommend for the 8 39w t-5 actinics to go with the phoenix 14k mh's???

with 8 actinics id go with 10k's in the mh's to get a better balance plus its a better par

Great! Now you tell me,lol. I already got the 14k mh bulbs.

Now that i'm stuck with the 14k's, what t-5's would you recommend?

sufunk, I run the 14k DE phoenix, along with 2 ATI aquablue and 2 ATI blue+. The aquablue is about an 11k bulb, the blue+ is a very visible blue color. PAR-wise, those are the highest output T5s I've seen.

I like this combination of T5. That is what I have on my 55g. minus the mh's. still gets good color.
