T-5 Vs PC

i'm torn between 2 light fixtures. I found a T-5 that is a total of 216 watts and is $199 while on the other hand ive found a PC that is 260 watt for $122.

I hear that T-5 lights have more intensity than PC but is that much of a different seeing as the PC is 44 watts stronger? Which would be best?

I had the Coralife 260W PC and moved over to the Tek T5 216W fixtue about a month ago. The difference in light intensity was unreal, the T5 is so much more intense. It's no longer about the old rule of watts/per gallon, it's about lumens.

i was torn apart between t-5s and and pc's and i chose the pcs coming in the mail now.. so ill let ya know how it is when i get it.

i have a coralife t5 system and it is great, i was thinking of getting MH but the T5 are supporting everything i put in including clams on the substrate and even some hard corals. def the way to go

I started with PC's, then had Halides. Now I have T5's and they are amazing. No comparison, go with T5's

if the t5 setup you are looking at is the nova, don't do it. It doesn't use the single parabalic reflectors and without a single reflector per bulb, you might as well go VHO or PC. The reflector is what makes the t-5's stand out, without them, they are just another florescent bulb.

I hear T-5s are out, and most cool folks use VHOs or MHs, or PCs.. JD
