T-6?

When you say efficiency you mean the PAR per watt, or the output per dollar?
In other words, if I have a 50 watt t5 and a 50 watt T6, (and the same reflector) do I get the same PAR value, but the cost of electric consumption is higher on the t6?

....and whatever you do, don't say watt-for-watt, the T5 will win......
unless you say you specifically mean for PAR value or for energy efficiency.........

The User Agreement prevents me from going into detail but the Brazilian Government aka Hugo Chaves, owns Citgo.

Not wanting to go too far off topic here, but the brand at the pump is not a reliable indicator of where your gas is coming from. Many different branded gas stations by from the same wholesalers.

The way I understand it is, Venezuela's Government aka Hugo Chaves are the biggest stock holder of the Citgo corporation. Not that all the gas is from there.

"In September, 1986, Southland sold a 50 percent interest in CITGO to Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA), the national oil company of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. PDVSA acquired the remaining half of CITGO in January, 1990. With a secure and ample supply of crude oil, CITGO quickly became a major force in the energy arena."

man do I love this site fish info and world events free of charge haha. thanks for the info grim I am running 4 54 w t-5's (2 460nm and 2 10 k) along with 2 175 w metal halides 10k's. I actually unhooked the two 10k t-5s yesterday and the color is better as I beleive it was too much daytime light. my question is do you thing the mh's and the actinic t-5s is enough light for my sps and clam withought the daytime t-5 bulbs?

Please remitt 4.95 to TGR Aurora CO and your answer will be forwarded:D

Grab ATI Blue Plus lamps and you will get the color and add good PAR to your tank. You should use the 10K's or better yet Aquablue T5's before and after the halides if you want to create a 3 stage lighting scheme for your tank.

I got some T6HO and they are quite a bit brighter on the same wattage, than my T5's. In fact when I added them, I thought they'd have relatively the same PAR, but all my corals went into hiding. To bright, had to cut down the lighting. Both are using a 216w ballast with 4 48" bulbs.

Have you actually read the PAR? I did both and the T5's were brighter but not by much. The VHO T6's are bright but they use double the power of a T5.

Individual Reflectors for Each T6 Tube

Individual Reflectors for Each T6 Tube

What T6 fixtures have individual parabolic reflectors for each tube?

thericeangel said that their t-6's were brighter than the t-5 bulbs I was wondering what reflector they used on the t-5s. I know the individual reflectors are a huge difference. but yes I beleive the t6 has built in reflectors like the vho bulbs

I have 2 different VHO T6 systems. 1 is a all in one fixture with a built in ballast and so-so reflector. The other is a retrofit that has clip on reflectors that seem to be pretty decent.

I know your busy but have you done a comparision test yet on your T-6 VHOs

i would like to know PAR wise, how 1, t-6 VHO lamp compares to 1, T-5 HO lamp.

I'm looking for a fixture, not bulbs. I want a T6HO fixture with individual reflectors. A brand or model number will help.
