T. Crocea changes?

Do T. Crocea clams change their mantle colors under different lighting situations? It is a beautiful clam, but not as colorful as some of the ones I have seen online. If the store had him under actinic VHOs and I put him under my 175 MHs will his colors become even more vibrant.

If so how long would it take to see the change.

On a side note = Is T. Crocea a fast grower?

your crocea should start to look a little better after time under your mh versus vho's.

crocea's are the slowest growers of the tridacnids. avg growth is 1" a year.

Thanks, will a serpent star be a problem with this clam?

I have a red serpent star, and it is not a problem with my clam.

I've never had a green serpent, apparently they are evil, but I dont know how they would be with clams.
