T-shirts: Getting started

Old School Reefer
OK, I'm pretty sure that most of us would like a club T-shirt espousing how weird we are, something connected to our unique hobby. There was a thread last year asking for catchy phrases to go on the T-shirt, but while there were many excellent suggestions, that thread died on the vine. So I'll be a good volunteer and gets things started, again.

I've had Bluff City Sports print custom T-shirts for me (for my Rhodes College paintball teams) and I'm very happy with their work. I propose a T-shirt with the WTMRAC name and logo on the back, and on the front the words "I Glue Animals To Rocks" with a graphic of a coral. That is a T-shirt I would buy, and one that is certainly a quirky converation piece. I'd be happy to submit a design to the club. Price should be around $10.

Feel free to suggest another idea, and also suggest what color you'd like the T-shirt to be. But let's not let the idea die because everybody has a different suggestion, and no one can agree.

That does sound good. Would like to see your design. I vote for black or gray but that is the Goth in me coming out.

I like the shirts where the shirt body is one color and the collar and sleeves are another color. I don't know what they call that but I think its nice.
Also, In a previous thread I started there are some nice "slogan's" proposed. One of the was, "Check out my wrasse!" ... or something to that effect.
or "I want a piece of THAT!"

That's funny when I started reading that and got to the "catchy phrases" part I instantly thought of the glue animals to rocks slogan (I think it was Vicki telling the story of meeting a person with a T-shirt that had the slogan). So I second the choice of T-shirts seeing that was the one I wanted too. Also when I go to these wildfire locals print t-shirts to sell to the firefighters and the have the same logo printed on many different colors of t-shirt (blue, black, grey, etc.) if it is only one color some shade of blue.

Barrett,
I'd like to steer away from any sex-related puns (I want a piece of THAT) on the t-shirt... I'd like to be able to wear my t-shirt to my classes without fear of complaints to the provost!

^-- I like it! BJ also had a shirt logo idea along the same lines. Maybe have a couple of designs voted on by the members?

"I glue animals to rocks"
http://wtmrac.org on the back

I like it maybe we could have two colors I would like a light blue.

This sounds good, but I do like Sanford's idea of having several colors.

although I think " I glue animals to rocks" is the most clever saying I have heard related to salt water addiction...is there any other ideas out there? I MAY ...mind you I said MAY ...have a friend that will embrodier the shirts for us if we provide the shirt and stick to one design. I have not pinned her down on what she will charge to do it because she wants to see the design we have in mind before she commits. So lets get the design pinned down and see what she can do for us ....

Isn't another club using that one? I thought I saw someone at the frag swap in nashville wearing one. I like the color aqua blue or some kind of green.

There was a girl wearing "I glue animals to rocks" at Nashville, yes. It was a shirt that she custom made for herself, not a shirt that belonged to a reef club.

Thanks Grannybj, but I'd rather stick with silkscreening. With the designs on front and back, along with the graphics, I can't see your friend embroidering 20 shirts in the next 4 weeks! (not so sure I want an embroidered t-shirt either).

I agree with silk screening on the t-shirts. I dont know if there would be a minimum order but depending on the cost I might like a polo or long sleeve denim shirt embroidered. I was thinking a logo and WTMRAC.org under it on the pocket area.

Ok we will go with silk screening then and if we can come up with a design we would want on denim or something..we can call on her.I will still find out what she would charge to do the work just so any one that wants her to do it for them will know in advance.
while you are ordering the silk screened ones, please order me a XL on a blue shirt.

i sent this logo to someone a while back. i had to reisntall my operating system on my computer and lost all my design software, so i can make anything right now.
