T5 Bulb color combo

I have an 8 bulb T5 Tek light. I had 6 blues, 1 Duo White and 1 Fiji Purple and it was nice, but i found the white washed the other lights out, believe it or not.

My LFS has a 6 bulb T5 and they have 5 blues and 1 Fiji Purple. I like the look of the light in that tank. the corals are fluorescent.

My question is, if I go with 7 blues and 1 Fiji Purple, will that give my corals what they need? I know the white is for growth, however, my corals are growing like weeds and Im ok with them growing slower, if that's the only drawback.

I just want to make sure everything will be happy and healthy in the tank.

I have SPS, LPS and Zoas.

I would try 6 blues and 2 purples.

What position is the white bulb in?

I agree. I would go 6 ATI Blue+ and 2 of the Fiji purples. My favorite 6 bulb combo is 4 blue+ and 2 fiji purple. The blue+ bulbs have as much par as their white bulbs. I don't even think you will see slower growth.

Thanks, Actually, i have that combo I have right now. 6 blue, 2 [urple. My Purples need changing. that may be why I'm not getting the desired effect. The store was out of them, so i'll swap them when they have them back in stock and make sure I have the Blue plus.

ATI now makes a purple plus almost the same specs as the Fiji but its $10 cheaper
