T5+clam=bad?

Why are people saying T5s are bad and actually harmfull to clams? Is there proof to this or is it just speculation?

Maybe it was people saying they thought T5's were not the best for some of the more light demanding Clams like Crocea and Maxima? I've never seen anyone post that they were bad for Clams.

Bad, no. The "best and easiest" for the high light clams, no. I think one would need to plan carefully if wanting to keep maximas and croceas under T5s.

That's strange. My Tear Drop seems to love my T5's, and he sits right on the bottom of my tank!

IME I can keep anything under my T5's. The tank is solid SPS, with 5 clams on the bottom and everything is just as happy as can be.

BTW I have had just about every lighting scheme out there and T5's are my current fav.

I also would say anything can go for enough T-5s, I wouldn't bet my clams on it in a very deep tank though, but I admit I may be a little ignorant of their capabilites () : )

I kept a Derasa under some T5's ...until it outgrew the tank and I had to move it.
