T5 components for sale

Hello from the Panhandle! Due to a recent addition to our family, I'm parting out my 75g and downsizing to a 30g setup.

So, I'm parting out the lights, keeping the ballast and endcaps to run on the 30g. So, there are a total of 4-48" t5 reflectors (2 Icecap, 2 Tek). $50 p/u, $60 shipped. I'd also consider trading them if anyone has got some 36" Tek reflectors they want to part with.

I have bulbs for this, but am not crazy about shipping them. Even though you guys are 'close' from a UPS/FEDEX standpoint, that doesn't mean they won't wind up part of someones midnight box battle/joisting game :D

I've also got some other things that are shippable:

You can easily cut those reflectors and pop a new hole in the end for the little clip. I've done it...no issues.

Really?!?! Would something like tin snips work to cut them????

I cut mine with a hack saw, but I'm sure tin snips would be fine.
I did file the edge smooth and squirt some "chrome" spray paint over the cut edge and the hole.

If you mean to replace the clips that hold the reflectors to the bulbs, Greg at www.reefgeek.com can get them for you.

The Icecap ones are better than the Sunlight Supply ones in my opinion.

Suzi, I hadn't thought of that but twkenny is right. Cutting them with tin snips should be a piece of cake! Much better than selling them cheap and having to buy new ones. You might even be able to use your present clips. If they are riveted on you could drill the rivet head carefully drill the shortened reflector and re-rivet. I've even got a rivet tool if you need to borrow it!

We have to save where we can in this hobby!

The Icecap reflectors should just have a small screw and nut holding the clip on.

twkenny-
Thanks for suggesting this!!!!!! Both reflectors have screw on clips. I'm going to do it:)
