Hey again RC

I come to you today in search of an awenser.....how effective is T5 lighting for growth of coral in general and more specificly sps. What kind of bulbs would one want to run (10k 20k ect) and is it worth it

I'm considering down the road here geting two 24" fixtures to sit between my three radion lights on my 180g

Let me know what you know guys :)

I had a DIY LED consisting of cool white, royal blue and blue over a 150g. Some Acropora, red planet, green slimer, Mirabilis to name a few did well. Others like Millepora and Humilis did not grow and branch, they pretty much just encrusted.
I added two 80W ATI blue plus and corals responded so well that I added two more bulbs. The T5 and LED was a good combination, blue LED could be run for the pop and shimmer, and T5 helped out tremendously with the growth

I'm running hydras on my 125 and thinking of adding some t5s or just going back to t5s in general.. imo alot of spot lighting with these leds idk. I'm tore between the two as on one hydra 4 leds went out talking to ai they sent me two new pucks didn't fix problem calling them today maybe they will send another light... sigh
