t5 / led hybrid for a red sea max 130.
Dimensions roughly = 24"x4" space within the hood. About 24" from sandbed to leds.
t5 / led strip / t5
- 1 ROW t5s 24"/24w
- 18" led strip constant current with 9 led's (5 royal blue / 4 cool white) roughly 20k look w/no optics

Quickly took pics as its late. Still messing with all the bulbs but I think it's blue plus and pure actinic. Spent the whole evening after work trying to finish this. Toughest part was getting everything to fit.

I look forward to seeing it over the tank. How long did it take you to actually construct the fixture? I would really like to replace the 4:400 and 6:250 with some led lighting.

I am loving mod and my only concern is heat within the hood. Its been a few years seeing my corals under actinics and its pretty crazy. Some corals like hollywood stunner, garf bonsai, reverse sunset monti, utter chaos, pink zippers, and chalices.. just really pop. Especially liking the pink hues of the pink elephant.

I noticed after one week one of my unknown light blue/purple stags is coloring up nicely.

Been very busy. Back east for 11 days, kids starting school, busy at work, wife starting school (teaches 1st grade). Just insane.

Sounds like the light is working out well.

Im going to catch up on some tank maintenance. Starting to get some hair algae, but I haven't change my GFO in a few months....

That sounds pretty busy.

The one thing I need to determine is the lighting schedule on/off with t5s and leds...

For instance...
ON t5s for 2 hrs, OFF T5s, ON Leds 6 hrs, OFF Leds, ON t5s for 2 hrs
OR
Maybe some overlap with the t5s and leds on or even run the t5s longer through time period.

Mike you want your T5s to stay on when the LEDs are on. So maybe T5 for 10 hours and LEds for 8 hours?
