Hi all,

need some advise here...

I planning to have 4 tubes of T5 light for a 2 ft tank

I already got ATI Blue plus + ATI red...

What type of colour/specturm for the other 2 tubes I can add for

a good effect?

Tks

I would stay away from the red (IMO) since it may promote algae growth. If you were doing macro-algae, I would do it.

Someone could chime in about the Kirk special and give you better idea on the bulb color spectrum

never seen a ati red, but w/ 4 bulbs you can do b+ b+ p+ b+

or you could switch out the p+ for a c+

For SPS I would do...

Blue +
Purple +
Coral +
Blue +

This should give a 14k or more look... If you like things more blue then change out the coral + for another Blue +.

Blue Plus
Fiji Purple
Aquablue Special
Blue Plus

This is a good combo, I used to run it.

This year I took out the aquablue special and went blue+ blue+ FP blue+. You'd think it would be too blue but it's not.

There's some disagreement about the necessity of a 'daylight' bulb. I'm in the camp that says you don't need one.
