T5 lighting and Blasto

Does anyone have problem with keeping Blasto under T5 lighting?
I have a 120 gallons 4'x2'x2' with 8 54 watt T5, I got this nice colony with about 8 heads on it and they were doing fine at the LFS, I place them on the sand bed under a cliff for shading and they were doing okay for a first week and i started to notice that they are starting to melt head by head why? All of my other corals are doing fine. Jjust the blasto are having problem. please help me understand why. i will post some pictures of it before and after. thanks

Mine started to fall apart after a few weeks, they were a little more than a foot below 4x54 watt T5, they eventuallly all went away, and not bleached but bascially fell apart. Not sure if it was flow or some bristleworms were munching on them.

I have had them under t5's with no problem... I have had problems with one receding before... After a week or so, I discovered a red hermit had been eating them... He promptly got evicted... They are fine now...

Not sure if I am getting unhealthy tissue and then attacked for food, or attacked for food and then unhealthy tissue. I lost $100 on 4 amazing polyps so they are off limits at the moment.

This was the colony that i got, it was really nice in color now i only have one head left.

That red and green lobo/scoly looking lps to the left of that first pic is scary close. Seems like the ric in the last pic is pretty close too. I know that LPS to the left in the first pic puts out some nasty sweepers, sure their just not getting stung durring the night?

Oh that picture is kind of old, I move everything away from each other.
Here is the new pictures i just took today. i move them into my nano tank to see if their recover.

looks more along the lines of water quality issues than light deprevation. I know I keep blastos under T5s with no probs.

try dosing amino acids. maybe your tank is missing some trace elements.

Oh man... Those look to be gonners... You might be able to get those second ones back... Check your water parameters... They should be nice and puffy...

Try taking them off the sand and put them on a rock. Blastos are a little tough to acclimate sometimes. I actually have a blasto that was a total skeleton. It came on a rock that a vendor used for a zoo frag. So don't lose hope.

I have been keeping a small colony of Merlittes? Don't think I spelled that right. They were under T5's in my gallon about 2 feet down from the lights for two years. I recently put them in a 24 gallon nano that is only under natural light now. They are doing great in there.

wow ct your blasto look amazing. sorry guys just been busy, well i lost all of them accept for one head, yeah!!!!! its doing fine. my water is 1.025 and the temp is 79. its kool, you win some, you lose some.

Blastos are very touchy and are delicate shippers. I've kept them under t5's (3 blue to every 1 white bulb) with no issues.

The only blastos I've seen kept long-term were in a skimmerless system with lots of nutrients.

I've had my blastos for about 2 1/2 years... I have my welsi's in a somewhat nutrient rich environment, but my merletti's are in one of my SPS tanks...

I bet those merletti's like the stability of the sps tank =)
