T5 lighting for frag tank..HELP

In Memoriam
I am going with a 48in long x about 10inch wide frag tank.

I was wondering how many T5 bulbs do you think i could get away with? I was thinking 2 48in bulbs should be ok for 10 inch, or would you recommend 3 or 4?

Also, which of the bulbs from reefgeek should I get? 6500k, 6000k, Blue+? And which combo? I thought if I go with 2 bulbs, it would be one 6500 and one blue +.

I am planning on fragging some SPS, maybe some Acans, blastos etc...but primarily SPS that I am concerned about.

thanks
G

ghever,

I would do two and see how you like it, I'm happy with two on a 36x10 99% sps, if you feel the need of more than you can always add more down the road

I would do the 6.5k GE, cheap, best par, and should last the longest, seem reports on the others like blue + and after 8-9 months growth stops, but remember the bulbs have a hint of yellow, so it won't looks good for a display, but for a frag tank would be perfect,

good luck on your setup,

sam

yep, those GE lights sue make a lot of PAR.
2 will work fine, probably

i have 3x39 on my 35g, with one ge day, and 2 ati blues and its plenty bright. too bright for most lps.

Horkn, either you post on every thread, or you and I gravitate towards the same topics. :) Must be a SE WI thing. ;)

yeah, something like that.
anything to do with t5ho i tend to post on. :D

btw are you a WRS member? if so, I am Tom:)

I was a WRS member, but I think my membership lapsed. I could never find info about meetings and stuff and their site was always down. I do more stuff with MARS. I'm Eric.

yeah, the site was never a good place to go for a long time. now we have someone updating the site. in the past year, the best place to look for meeting times has been on RC in the reef club forums under wisconsin reef society. we still have the yahoogroup, but you need to be a member to have access to that group now.

you know, you could do dual membership;)
