T5 lighting question

I know a few of your are using t5's. I was wondering what your thoughts t5 vs halides? If you had to do it over again would you re-buy the t5's? Also what brand and wattage do you recommend? I will be usign the lights on a 58gallon. I am also going to be housing SPS and clams. Thanks for any information.
