T5 operating temperature

A quick question. I know I've seen the info posted, but I can't find it anywhere. What is the maximum temperature for T5s to operate at? I put a thermometer probe on one of the reflectors and it read 103 degrees F. Is that OK?

Thanks

David

I am not sure what the max temp is, however, I would definitely put some fans in your canopy to help keep the bulbs cool and working at peak performance.

I have two 120 mm Icecap fans blowing along the length of the tubes, I put the temperature probe at the far end away from the fans (assuming that would be the warmest spot). The tank is 72 inches long, and has 8 x 39 watt T5s driven by 2 Icecap 660s.

dont quote me, but i believe i saw it recently in a thread, maybe the fm solaris thread, that ideal temp is 90f.

Yes I believe I have seen that too (sorry for quoting you) - however, I'm pretty sure I've seen some posts about the max temperature - when do you lose significant efficiency and when does it become dangerous.
