T5 or halides for zoas and pallys

Ok so I have been really getting into zoas and pallys lately and wanted to throw this question out there and ask some people who have some absolutely stunning tanks and ohitos on here I have seen. But I keep my zoas under LEDs right now however it really drowns out my purples and blues so in debating switching to t5 or halides. So the question is what is everyones opinion on that issue for best color? Thanks in advance

For me MH. I ran 2x250w 14k phoenix and had a carpet of zoas.

T5 allows you more control over your color though. Just personal opinion after running a 6x39w giesemann t5, the MH 250w setup felt better.

I was thinking of getting leds for my zoa tank. What kind of leds do you guys have.
I was thinking the AI sol blues?

T5's or LED's all the way unless you are running 20k Halides, just my opinion but zoas look better under light that spikes at 440-490nm.

i have leds and the only problem i am finding is that when i put to much light into the tank the polyps get really small so i had to dial the leds way way down other than that i love the leds on my tank.

There are a variety of options, but primarily the things that haven't been discussed here are the tank size. Many smaller or less deep (front to back) are difficult to light with MH, or are a waste. In that case, T5 is the cheaper option on initial investment a lot of the time. LED's can be more costly now, but POSSIBLY cheaper in the long run (still too new to get really good info).

So before supplying info that isn't applicable or you can't really use, what size tank are you looking at and do you plan to keep it zoa/paly only or a mix of other things? Any other issues to note (like a warm climate, hot house, etc)?

Well I'm debating getting another Solana, or possibly having a 60 cube built. Either way it won't be too hard to light all of mine are in a cadlights 39 gallon nano right now I just like the look of a cube tank much better instead of the kind of rounded front. Thanks for all the input this far, I'm usually a t5 guy but tried LEDs, but also the 150w 14k Phoenix over my Solana right now is working ou really well. I don't have any zoos in there but maybe I'll switch a few to see how they look.

Our big tank has a combo halide/T5 and everything looks good and colors are nice.

Our solana we switched over to T5s from a halide and zoa/paly colors are much better
