T5 question

Right how I am not supplementing any actinic but I am thinking about adding 2 T5's to my sps tank. Right now I have 2 175w ushio 14k's. My question is when I add the T5's will I have to acclimate my corals to it or is that just necessary when you add daylights?

I don't think the actinic will hurt your corals, but you can always just start with a short light cycle and bring it up from there if you are concerned. Just add an hour a week until you get to the total you want.

I wasn't sure, I always hear how T5's can bleach corals but I wasn't sure if the actinic would do the bleaching.

The actinic "can" cause bleaching, I would suspect the ATI Blue plus (which is one of the best bulbs on the planet IMO) would be more likely to cause bleaching--- it has a TON of PAR output.

If you are going to supplement for looks only, I would use one ATI Blue Plus and one UVL Super actinic.

The Giesemann actinic gets rave reviews but puts out very little PAR at all--- almost purely a "for looks" bulb. This would look great with the ATI as well. The UVL Super actinic looks similar to the Giesemann, but has a good bit more PAR output.
