im setting up a 60" x18"w x20"deep tank and am trying to decide on which set to get.

i know the constellation is really popular right now but are 7 bulbs really necessary? the tx5 system seems to be a pretty decent system with only 5 bulbs. with only 18" front to back, the constellation might give quite a bit of light spillage.

basically what kind of coverage do most of these systems give? there is very little info on this particular stat.

thank you

achillesheel,

Just to chime in here. The TX5 is designed for systems up to 18" wide; front to back (when resting on the tank) while the Constellation is for up to 30" wide (again resting on the tank). The higher you raise the fixture the wider the spread.

Hope this helps.

Thank you,

Tom

I'll just say...the tx5 might be awesome... But you have the space. Let me tell you, I've had the constellation for about 3 weeks...it rocks, AWESOME fixture. There's so much hype about ATI fixtures...the constellation is the sleeper. Great fixture for the price. If you can, why not?
