t5 vs clam

can i keep clams under t5 lighting? i thinking so because you can keep sps, but i just wanted to check. also what is a good first clam for a 40 gal tank?

you can but people will say that you can't, just keep it high up and keep an eye out for it, make sure he doesn't bleach.

I have seen several clams under t5. I would go with a maxima because it won't get to big and just keep it at the top half of the tank.

I have 3 clams on the bottom of my 55 w/ t5 lighting (4-54 wt). They are growing and keeping their colors.

I have a Crocea in the bottom of my 75 with 6 T-5's normally driven with IceCap Reflectors. It is doing great!

I have a derasa at the bottom of a 72 with 4*54 T-5's and he has put on 3/4 of a inch of growth in a few months.
