T5's OK for SPS?

I have a 90 g with 2 Montipora frags from a friend of mine, the red is about 8 inches higher in the water than the green and is getting bigger. Are my T5's too weak? I want to keep SPS but don't really want MH lighting for a number of reasons. Thanks in advance.

montis do great under t-5s considering they are sps but other sps will also do fine if placed higher in the tank.

I would agreen most sps guys thaT run t5s run them with individual reflectors or good ones like ati tek geis.

Need more than 2 bulbs.

I run 8 t5 ho bulbs on my 72 bow front. I grow sps on thge bottom well.

I think 4 good bulbs would be minimum on a 90.

not a fan of LED. Id suggest 6-8 bulb T5 fixture like ATI

For a 90 gallon you should go with a minimum of a 6 bulb fixture.

LEDs are fine but corals will need time to adjust and you have to spend the right kind of money for the right setup.

Sounds cheap and ambigious. Cheap LEDs don't last very long.

Definitly more T5's 2 just wont cut it. TEK is a good option and is nice to your wallet

Not to hijack, but i have a 29g with 4x 24w T5HO ATI bulbs...two blue two actinics...individual reflectors in each ballast...do I have good enough lighting to try SPS??

Yea it's only a 2 bulb set-up. This is the LED set-up link I was looking at, although a found a 6 bulb T5 set-up for another 75 dollars, so might just go that route.
