T5s over a 65

I am trying to decide on the lighting I am going to use on my standard 65 gallon reef tank I'm setting up. I was considering going with 4 T5 actinic and 2 150watt HQI metal halides, but now i am considering going all T5 and doing 8 36" t5 bulbs each with its own reflector and powered by 2 icecap 660 ballasts. I was wondering what peoples opinions are of T5s specifically with clams and SPS and do people think 8 36" t5 bulbs over a 65 gallon tank would allow me to keep sps and clams both on my rockwork and all the way down at the sand bed? I also want to keep zoanthids, some softies, and lots of LPS. Thanks

Get a 5x5 t5 unit (5 48 inch 54 watt T5s) from aquactinics, it will grow whatever you want in a 65.

I been thinking about a 65G too and right now the 5 bulb T5HO setup from Aquactinics is what I think I would go with.

you won't be able to fit 8 bulbs...i use 4 bulbs overdriven by icecap ballast and i have sps and clams growing at the bottom.

Aquactinics makes a fixture that uses the Icecap ballast and 6 T5 bulbs. It's called the Solar Flare. That'll outperform just about anything you could put over your tank, even halides. It's also damn expensive. I think you'll do fine if you want to retrofit Icecaps on it (6 is about how much you'll be able to fit and it will be more than enough).
