t5s would work but alot of them, what size length of tank and what are you looking to buy, I might be able to help out.

most lighting on t5 is lost after 30 inche depth

if you want to keep stuff anywhere in the tank get 400w

I currently have a 540 that is fowlr and i am thinking of turning it into a reef. The tank is 8 ft i was thinking of getting 2 teklights and putting the lower light corals on the bottom

I would use 8 - 10 60" retros if you could get 12 even better and stager them.

thanks waynesworld i was looking at that option. It would cost 1400 for 12 60" retros and around 1300 for 4 400 watt large lumen bright retros (with dimmable ballast) Im not sure what to do i plan on keeping mostly sps and i want to do it right the first time
